Colonia De Sacramento 18-19.04.2008

After late ferry we've got to Colonia.
This is the nicest town Ive been during all my trip.

In here I can relax after Buenos and that big city rush.

Yeah

Colonia del Sacramento, in Uruguay's province of Colonia, was the only Portuguese settlement along the Rio de la Plata.

Founded as Nova Colonia do Sacramento in 1680 by Manuel de Lobo, it was the focus of struggle between the Spanish, who founded the settlement at Montevideo in response, and the Portuguese over control of the area.
For years it operated as a contraband port, evading the strictures imposed on trade by the Spanish crown.

When we get to Colonia, only thing we had in mind was bed.
We didn't sleep very well last night though.

Well it was Dave's birthdays so well we had a PARTY:))

Get drunk a bit, just a littttle bit hehe.

<----------Colonia's Harbour

Built in Portuguese style of houses and cobble stoned streets, the historic portion of Colonia is reminiscent of old Lisbon.
Winding streets and colorful houses are laid out in a pattern different from Spanish colonial cities, and a delight to explore.
I was exploring this little village for about 3 hour es. And that was enough.

Montevideo 19-20.04.2008

Montevideo is da largest city of da Uruguay.

Its still just a big town compare to some big cities. There are at least two explanations for the name Montevideo: The first states that it comes from the Portuguese "Monte vide eu" which means "I see a hill".
The second is that the Spaniards recorded the location of a mountain in a map as "Monte VI De Este a Oeste" meaning "The sixth hill from east to west". The city's full original name is San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo.

I thought Montevideo gonna be another big city on da way to Mexico.

But I was wrong hehe.

Am happy with that. Montevideo is not that big and it has atmosphere of the town.

U can see it on this photo hehe.

Montevideo got a realy nice architecture but there was so much smoke from Buenos Aires than I didnt see much.

U can actualy see smoke on da photos.

That was crap.

Well not always everything is cool right.

Such as life:)

Montevideo is a bit boring so people dont stay here too long but there is couple of things to see.

When me and Dave been there it eas some important footbal mech in tv so all city was empty:)

Everyone was watching match, seriously everyone hehe.

Plaza Independecia------------->

Patagonia 27.03-15.04.2008

Patagonia is worth to talk about.

To be honest I bet u guys U don't have a clue what Patagonia is:)
I just know that.
Anyway Patagonia is the Most Southern land in da world.
The weather is very unpredictable.
Wind is so strong than u cant really stand on the ground(sometimes).

People are happy no matter what though.

Patagonia is a place where u cant see people very often.

That's the best part. Its not many places like that in da world any more.

I tried to hitchhike but didn't really work.
I love and hate Patagonian siesta, any time I am hungry, shops and restaurants are shut during a lunch time heh. U can See empty towns during that time.

I know one day i'll be back again:)

Thats for sure.

Good Bye Patagonia.

Or Adios:)

Buenos Aires 15-18.04.2008

Hey we are in Buenos.

Wow wa wi wa:)

Capital of Tango yeaaah.

Just 20 h bus from Bariloche (good company and nice sits)well compare to one from El Chalten(30h) this was a peace of cake.

On DA first day we could see and smell heaps of smoke.

On the second day people from DA hostel explain us than it is a bush fire somewhere near Buenos and all city have to suffer.

Because of smoke I couldn't sleep for 2 days in Buenos. This smoke just irritate me.

When I walked around Da city for 2 days Ive seen just 2 couple dancing Tango on da street.
I realy expect more.

Anyway there was a lot of people who want to give me some sort of ADV.

For bloody peace of paper theyve been ready to tel u something like fu... u or something.

Anyway Buenos Aires is just another BiG city and I just dont like big cities.

So maybe thats why ive seen only bad part of it.

I am sure than BA got a soul u know, but I wasnt there long enough to see it.

Da smoke was just killing me.

On da last day before we lef BA. Da smoke was so strong than visibility was like 15-20 metres. Thats wicked Ayy.
Because of that we had to wait for ferry to Uruguay about 4-5 houres. They cant run ferry without visibility right??

Gabi, thank u for coming to say good bye and for da gifts after that long shift(still with smile). I wish u all the best with your health, work and study. Bye Buenos, Bye Gabi Hope to see u again one day. Bye smoge I hope i will not see u any more;) BYE

On the second day we went to a ski field and climb on about 2000 m up(was easy)
I heard then that wiev is one the best in da world.

Well I have to say was amazingly impresive but...

I still like Fitzroy more.

I hope I will come back to Los Glaciares NP.

Cerro Catedral------------>

Anyway after this trek we had to give up(my bleesters and Dave´s food).

We just bought a ticket to Buenos the next day and went away of freezy and windy Patagonia.
Bariloche was cool, loots of students from Argentina comming here have a party on the end of the year at Uni or High School.
I like it here.

Fitzroy and a sunny day:)

After A night in El Chalten we went to Fitzroy.

Fitzroy is one of the hardest climbing picks in the world.

Well we didnt climb we just went there:)

Me and Dave, we did realy tough trek up to more than 2000 m.

Was cool, loooots of snow. ha

About 23 km that day :))

We stayed there only one night.

I just Love this sort of quite places.
Sentiment i recon.
U can see Fitzroy as a last far away point of the photo-------->

El Calafate&Glacier Perito Moreno 08-09.04.2008

After Torres we went to see huge Glacier, called Perito Moreno.

To Be honest prety amazing stuff.

I know than photo not gonna show u how gigantic is that glacier but trust me guys, it is.

Any time some piece of ice drop to the water make amazing soud is just...amazing
U can see power of the nature.
This Glacier is one of still growing glaciers in da world.
There is not many of them, with this pollution any more.

Parque Nacional Torres Del Paine 04-07.04.2008
